The Hopeful Slacker
I'm currently in the process of getting Madison & I ready to go for an overnight sleep study at a local sleep center. We are scheduled to be there by 830pm & should be done by 6am. I'm nervous but anxious to get this done as it could give us some answers regarding her sleep patterns, her seizure activity while sleeping (most of her seizures happen as she's falling asleep, in the middle of the night or right after she wakes up), could tell us if she suffers from true sleep apnea and whether or not she can be taken off of the ventilator she's been on since her hospital stay in May. That's the biggest question...can we get her off this stupid ventilator? She's been tolerating the switch from being on it for 10 hours a night to 6 hours a night just fine so I'm hoping that they are able to wean her off of it more. That could put us one step closer to getting that trach out.
Keep her in your thoughts tonight for a peaceful night of rest & wish me luck that I can stay awake! I'll blog more about it tomorrow or the next day. ;)
